Smooth landing is in Saskatchewan’s future
Saskatchewan’s economy is dwindling significantly from last year’s robust, nation-leading 3.4-per-cent growth to mild, but is still nation-leading, 0.9 per cent in 2009. This is because potash companies are laying off miners by the thousands and shutting down operations but the process is only temporarily and will last long as needed to prop up potash prices, which have remained at historically high levels, despite the commodity price collapse.
